Ready to fly drones? Take to the sky by enrolling in the most comprehensive drone aviation program in the region! Participants will learn how to use drones safely and prepare for the FAA exam.
The RaD Lab Skills Academy Drone Aviation Badge is the first of its kind in the region! The five-week course is split into three phases to ensure you are ready to safely operate drones (sUAS) in the National Airspace System. As part of the Drone Aviation Badge, students will:
- Learn FAA rules & guidelines in a self-paced online format, moderated by FAA Licensed Instructors
- Earn an FAA License with UAS rating (FAA Part 107)
- Access a drone simulator to learn safe drone control
- Gain hands-on flight time with FAA Licensed Instructors
The course is primarily online. The final week (week 5) includes two onsite days. Locations and dates will be determined by the instructors and students.
The Creighton University Drone Aviation Badge program is a wonderful opportunity that offers an unmatched level of training, including:
- Online coursework
- Cutting-edge flight simulators
- In-person instruction with licensed remote pilots
As with all of the radlab’s programs, the Drone Aviation Badge program challenges students to complete hands-on projects that contribute to positive social change. This makes our program unique, impactful and most of all, a great deal of fun!
Note that in order to obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA, pilots must be at least 16 years old.
Student interactions and viewpoints are a vital part of our rich learning environment. For this reason, Creighton reserves the right to cancel courses and issue refunds in the case of low registration numbers.
