During the webinar, The Science Behind Lifestyle Medicine to Promote Healthy Aging, current and historical life expectancy data will be reviewed along with a discussion of the concepts “life span,” “health span,” and “compressed morbidity.” Evidence will be presented related to lifestyle medicine strategies and their impact on the aging experience along with specific implications of these strategies on common chronic conditions of aging, such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, dementia, and frailty.
